North&East win Commendation for Best Website
Our website for Coodham Estate in Ayrshire has received a Commendation from the judges at the 2008 Scottish Design Awards. All the chat on the night was about how strict the judges had been, so to just be nominated was an award in itself. Coodham was the only website to pick up any award on the night, so we can consider ourselves winners (in a sense). We'd like to mention Mick at Various who we worked alongside on the Coodham project, he did the brochure we did the website.
Read more about the website in the folio below.

North&East win Barclays Wealth for Professional Advisers client, working in partnership with our friends.
Through our strategic relationships with MRM and Marketing Edge, we are proud to say we now have Barclays Wealth as a client. Evidence of our growing reputation in the industry...we hope. We have been tasked with developing their on-screen and off screen marketing material. Keep an eye on the folio (below) for the work we will soon be producing for them.

New website!
Well it's only taken the best part of two years to get around to producing a new website - due to our preference for doing our clients work rather than our own. So we sat up late for the last few nights and worked like, er, well we worked late. The decision to go for the "one page fits all" approach was for two reasons. 1. It was quicker to build and 2. It's quicker for you to see everything about us.
North&East score a hat-trick at the
Scottish Design
Awards
Our work for Bake Printers in Newcastle took three awards at the 2007 Scottish Design Awards, for Best Print, Best Poster and the judges overall Grand Prix (best overall design). It was also commended in the Best Promotional Item category. So that's nearly 4 awards.
We were so happy we got very drunk! The heads were a bit sore the next day, as one might expect.

North&East moves south to the big smoke
It's nothing personal Scotland, we still love you dearly! We just need to be somewhere new, somewhere to put down some fresh roots following recent turmoils. Don't worry though, we'll be coming back to visit you regularly for a good dose of fresh air and mountainous views! (and to visit our clients and of course the family).

Barclays asked us to produce "something" they could use to promote a new investment product on emerging world markets, they also wanted it to educate their B2B audience (of Independent Financial Advisers) on the benefits of their revolutionary investment techniques.
We produced an on screen interactive presentation, to take the user step-by-step through the new product, demonstrating the what, where, when, why and how.

As part of our ongoing work for Nucleus, as their brand consultants, we designed and produced their new B2B brochure.
In keeping with the brand we created for them, it sets a new benchmark in financial literature. We used high quality printing techniques such as french folds and singer sewn binding to reinforce their position as a ground breaking company.

Bake Printers approach us to design their Christmas card at the end of 2005. They wanted it to showcase their printing abilities to print buyers and designers alike.
We suggested a Christmas card was a bad idea, in that none of their audience would see it. "Tell us more..." they said. So we suggested a large format, large impact promotional piece that would demonstrate their skills as a high quality and creative printer. They thought it was a brilliant suggestion, so we created the "poster come calendar come spec sheet come business card" to showcase their skills. It changed the design industries perception of them, which is what they wanted it to do.
It won some awards too (4 in all), but that's not what it's about.

N&E designed and produced a "two pronged" website for a new development of luxury properties in Ayrshire, Scotland.
The website has two main areas, allowing users to choose to Explore or seek to be Informed about the development, with each having its own navigation and structure offering users two routes to the content. It's not often a client can say they (effectively) got two websites for the price of one.

For our friends at BL Developments we created a flash mini site to promote their latest development at The Bridge in Musselburgh, just outside Edinburgh.

We have workd with the National Galleries of Scotland on several direct mail and below the line promotion items for the many exhibitions, some posters and the odd signage requirement for their ongoing marketing needs. They even said we had produced "one of the best [items of promotional work] they had done for a long time". The piece in question was inspired by the huge and imposing columns that are an integral architectural feature in all their galleries.

We've been friends with the guys at Analogue for years - a fantastic design bookshop in Edinburgh - so when we got asked to redesign their website we jumped at the chance.
They wanted something minimal and simple and we were only too happy to oblige.

How do you create a brand for a finance company that is going to set their industry alight and break all the 'rules'? Answer: Ignore all the rules for designing for the finance industry. No blue. No green instead of blue. No serif type. No design by committee.
Thankfully Nucleus appreciate the value that good design gives to a business, and they trust our judgement. We love them for both those reasons (and the fact they're top peeps too!).

An interior design firm with some great clients and a new found love for pink.
We sweet talked them into letting us redesign their logo, and they willingly discovered their feminine side. With a new colour scheme and typeface, a simple design was called for to show off their interiors to maximum effect.

We have redesigned and produced Oakbridge Financial Groups' new corporate brochure. It features images of the kinds of things they offer bridging finance for, demonstrating how their work behind the scenes has an impact in the real world.
We also redesigned their website, using the same imagery and styling to give them a coherent onscreen and off screen public image. An integrated marketing campaign, one might say.
